Instructions for Self-Registration and Account Creation in Moodle

To participate in the 2007 Online Discussion Series you will need to create an account using the process outlined below. Certificate Program participants and alumni should have received the enrollment key required in step 7 below in the series announcement sent via the DECP listserv. Please email Nancy Rebholz with log-in questions. |
For this year’s discussion series we're using Moodle, an open source course management system. Moodle provides a discussion forum and other tools for sharing ideas and working together.
1. Go to UW-Madison School of Education Moodle site at:

In the lefthand frame under courses click on DEPD to bring up a
new screen
with a link to 2007 Online Discussion Series (0340).

Click the link 2007 Online Discussion Series (0340). On the next screen,
read the information in the righthand frame pertaining to first time use.
Then click the New Account link (in the righthand frame).

4. On the next screen you should enter a username and password of your choice and make a note of them. Then fill out the information requested e-mail address, first name, last name and city and click Create My New Account.

You will receive an account created confirmation e-mail from the Moodle
administrator with a link back to the Moodle site. Click on this link.

Once again, choose DEPD from the courses listed in the lefthand frame. On
the login screen that comes up enter the username and password you used
when you created the new account (step 3). Click login.

The next screen will ask you for an enrollment key.
The key was sent to Certificate Program
participants and alumni in the listserv announcement
for the series. Enter this and click
login to enter the course. You’re in!

8. Take some time to look around. Please fill out a participant profile with a couple of sentences about where you work, what you do and your interest in this discussion. We invite you to include a photo or yourself or whatever pleases you.
