Wikis for Collaborating and Learning

March 5-9, 2007

This discussion will focus on wikis and ways to use them in an online course or program. For those of you new to wikis, there will be an overview of wiki basics and uses to get you up to speed. Using two case studies, we'll discuss guidelines for effective collaboration and getting participation. We'll follow this discussion with a look at broader issues of the pedagogical value of wikis and the instructional design challenges of  today's read/write Web environment. There will be resources and examples to explore on your own.  We hope you will  help us build our collective knowledge of this tool by adding  your own resources, case studies, and wisdom to the wiki in Moodle.
