
In this first session our guest moderators will guide a discussion focusing on understanding today’s multi-tasking, visually-oriented and Web-savvy learners. You’ll discuss ways to engage these learners, how to adjust online teaching methods to better meet their needs, and ideas for meeting instructional design challenges of 21st century teaching and learning.
Dr. Roger Von Holzen is the director of the
Center for Information Technology in Education (CITE) at Northwest
Missouri State University. Since completing his doctorate in instructional
technology from Texas Tech University in 1993, Roger has been extensively
involved in the various technology initiatives undertaken by the
university, leading to his appointment as the director of the campus’s
faculty technology and online learning center in the spring of 1999.
Darla Runyon is the Assistant Director and Curriculum Design
Specialist for the Center for Information Technology in Education at
Northwest Missouri State University. She received her masters in education
from Colorado State University and is working on her doctorate in
information science and learning technologies from the University of
MissouriColumbia. Currently, Darla works in the CITE office at Northwest
and assists faculty in the design, development and delivery of
instructional technology.
